Proceeds of Crime (Amendment) Bill 2024

In examining the proposed legislation, the Committee recommends further examination of proposals to reduce the period of time between the seizure and disposal of items and measures to provide for the appointment of a receiver to deprive respondents of property suspected as stemming from proceeds of crime.

Scrutiny

Garda Síochána (Recording Devices) (Amendment) Bill

In examing the general scheme of the Bill, the Committee recommends further examination of concerns relating to biometric identification technology and human and fundamental rights, as well as concerns about the accuracy of this technology and the potential for racial bias.
